Bio: Who We Are

Bebop Studios is the young and healthy product of Brothers Jim and Tommy Bailey. Music has been a huge part of their lives since they were young. "Since I was little, music has been a big part of my life," explains Jim, the older of the two. "I remember one of the first bands I really got into was Bad Religion because I could not only connect with their music emotionally, but I could also connect with their lyrics on an intellectual level." Music wasn't the only thing Jim could connect with intellectually. He recently graduated from Concord University with his Bachelors in Finance/Business Administration. Despite his exceptional grades throughout school, he has always found time for music, playing many instruments such as Quads in High School Marching Band, Base Drum in Concord University's Drumline, Base Guitar in a successful Morgantown cover band called "Lost Cauze", and Lead Guitar and Vocals in his current Metal/Punk band called "Coalfield Conspiracy."

"I guess we've always shared interests," reflected Tommy who is currently working on his Bachelors in Computer Science at WVU. "I used to listen to all of his 'Total Chaos' and 'Nofx' CD's. I guess it was a pivitol point in our history when he got his first electric guitar. I remember everyone coming over to our house to hear a new 'Bad Religion' solo or 'Metallica' riff he learned." It didn't take long for Jim's name to get out in the community for his abilitys, and the story wasn't any different for Tommy as soon as the first drumset was purchased. "I've been fascinated with percussion since I can remember. As early as age six I would get out butter knives and play on certain pots and pans that I preferred the sound of." Before long, Tommy was the Drum Captain of his High School Drumline, earning them a Second place Drumline at a Tri-State competition. He also recieved four "Superior" Ratings and one "Excellent" Rating throughout High School for Saxophone and Snare Drum. Tommy was a 2006 member of the WVU drumline, and now plays drums in Southern Flame, Virginia Street, and plays bass in The Gentlemen.

Since its move to Morgantown, Bebop Studios has been fortunate enough to recieve help from others. Two of these people are David Price and Leann Arthur. Dave is a music major at WVU, a talented performer, and has been helping out with drum maintenance/setup, production, and post-production engineering. Leann, who is a member of the WVU Photographic Services and an aspiring photojournalist, has stepped on board to photograph any clients that come through the studio.
