So, what's it like recording with Bebop?

Whether your a six piece ska band, a three piece punk band, a swedish death metal band, or even a guitar virtuoso wanting to lay down some tracks, getting a professional sounding demo is critical to finding success in the music industry. However, some of you might not have been in a real studio environment yet and others are just plain curious, so we're more than happy to guide you through what we do. Just keep in mind, these are some of the things we can do and some of the processes we usually follow, but recording is not a science. There are a million different ways to record any one instrument, so we keep our minds and options open when recording to get a unique sound. Enjoy

We like to multitrack everything we do, because it gives us more control in the end, and almost always promises a nicer sound. This means recording every insrument seperatly, usually starting with drums, then onto bass/guitar/instruments, and ending with vox. The drummer will be listening to a metronome through headphones, and everyone else listens to the drummer/instruments that have already been recorded.

We leave how much copy/pasting/pitch correction/ect... you want done completely up to you. Some bands don't like to copy and paste any guitar riffs, while other bands don't mind in order to save them time. We can also auto correct the pitch of pretty much any instrument including vocals. The decision is up to the band, but to say this is never done in the professional world would be a blatent lie.

We take pride in our work to, so if something doesn't sound right, we'll probably let you know. We play the role of producer as well as recording engineers. We're ofcourse not out to change your sound, but most bands really appreciate our advice on a certain lick that just doesn't sound quite right.

Midi has become a big part of recording. If you don't know what it is, then we suggest checking it out. We have a midi keyboard that's capable of a lot, and we're not afraid to use it. Sometimes a chorus can just use a little punch to it, or perhaps you need a psychedelic intro for the album. Once again, the decision is left up to the band, we're just letting you know the possibilities are there.

If you have any more questions about recording, or simply want to record, then just email us and we'll work something out!
